But before you come to any conclusions
Try walking in his shoes
You'll stumble in his footsteps
Keep the same appointments he's kept
If you try walking in his shoes
You'll stumble in his footsteps
Keep the same appointments he's kept
If you try walking in his shoes
Try walking in his shoes
Try walking in his shoes

Muore la pecora, muore l'agnello, muoiono il bue e l'asinello, muore la gente piena di guai... ma i rompicoglioni non muoiono MAI.

The Way That It Is

January 28, 2013
There’s a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can’t get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding.
You don’t ever let go of the thread.

–William Stafford

" There are two ways of spreading the light: to be the candle or to be the mirror that reflects it."

"Have you ever been together with her?"
He looked at me as if I had said something terrible.
"Hell no! It would be like blowing out the candles on a birthday cake."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
".... some people you touch and some you dream about."

"Never love a wild thing, Mr. Bell," Holly advised him. "That was Doc's mistake. He was always lugging home wild things. A hawk with a hurt wing. One time it was a full-grown bobcat with a broken leg. But you can't give your heart to a wild thing: the more you do, the stronger they get. Until they're strong enough to run into the woods. Or fly into a tree. Then a taller tree. Then the sky. That's how you'll end up, Mr. Bell. If you let yourself love a wild thing. You'll end up looking at the sky."

"… and believe me, dearest Doc -- it's better to look at the sky than live there. Such an empty place; so vague. Just a country where the thunder goes and things disappear."

Truman Capote, Breakfast at Tiffany’s

watching Tom Cruise

October 28, 2012
can be fascinating. but only from a safe distance.

Rock of Ages (2012)

... good grief, I haven't laughed so heartily in months.

Brand channeling Freddie Mercury.
Alec Baldwin channeling The Dude.
Paul Giamatti being great as he usually is.

But the cherry on the cake is Cruise's performance as a rock god.
He doesn't have the voice, but he has everything else: the body, the poise, the mannerisms, the attitude, the intensity...
So soft-spoken, but so gdamned intense...
"You can't trap a fire phoenix. That would be crazy, right"
And Cruise pole-dancing? Priceless.
I guess everyone involved had fun making this film, but Cruise ruled them all.

Knight and Day (2010)

" Someday. That's a dangerous word. It's really just a code for 'never'. "

" I love your optimism. Never lose it."

June: I think I feel like having sex. I think we could have really good sex.
Roy: Did they give you something?

I definitely don't like Cruise as a person, but I surely like his acting. Especially when he does comedy.
